(Call for applications) The 2nd IRCMS-IROAST Joint Research Group 2021

IRCMS and IROAST have been carrying out on-campus joint research utilizing each other’s strengths to promote interdisciplinary and cutting-edge research works in Kumamoto University.
We adopted five research groups in the previous year. This year, we continue to make a call for applications for the joint research groups to accelerate the interdisciplinary research in the University.
We ask those interested to read the application guidelines below and submit the application form to IRCMS by email. We hope you use this support program proactively.
＊       Research Groups that have already been created are also required to apply.

◆ Notes for application
・Be represented by IRCMS/IROAST PIs and include faculty members from the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology and the Faculty of Life Sciences.
・The theme of the joint research should be mainly medical-science and/or engineering cooperation.
・Research groups adopted in the last year or before can also apply.
・The members of the group must not have received any other Kumamoto University grants on the same theme.

◆ Research Period
From the date of approval to the end of FY2021

◆ Number of Research Group to be adopted
A few

◆ Budget
500,000 yen per group (may vary depending on the number of selected groups)

◆ Application

◆ Others
・Selection will be made by the IRCMS and IROAST director and vice-director based on their review of the application documents.
・The group leader should report the progress of the research once a year to the IRCMS director.
・Meetings/seminars may be held for reporting the progress of each research group a few times a year.
