[Activity Report] Distinguished Professor Zheng's Visit to Tokyo

IROAST Distinguished Professor Yufeng ZHENG was invited as one of the plenary speakers at the 4th International Conference on Biomaterials, Biodesign, and Manufacturing (BDMC2024) held at the University of Tokyo from August 18 to 20, 2024. At this conference, Prof. Zheng gave a speech titled “Development of biogradable metals and their additive manufacturing technology” and presented the results of his collaborative research at IROAST to the participants.
Attending this conference also gave him the opportunity to meet with prominent professors from the University of Tokyo, Oxford University, Zhejiang University, and other institutions to introduce “IROAST” to them.
Furthermore, he paid a courtesy visit to President Teruo FUJII of the University of Tokyo and introduced IROAST to him.

Then, on August 21, Professor Zheng visited the 22nd Century Medical Research Center at the University of Tokyo and met with Dr. Dehua CHANG. First, Dr. Chang introduced her research, and then Prof. Zheng introduced the research being conducted at Kumamoto University's IROAST.
He also visited Dr. Chang's laboratory at the Clinical Research Center building of the University of Tokyo Hospital, and exchanged opinions on future joint research.

On August 22, Prof. Zheng invited Associate Professor Taishi YOKOI of the Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University to visit him.
After introducing each other's research, Dr. Zheng toured Prof. Yokoi's laboratory and discussed the possibility of mutual international academic exchange.

Prof. Zheng contributed energetically to the appeal of IROAST through this visit.
Also, this visit is expected to be an opportunity for new collaborative research in the future.
