IROAST Distinguished Professor Yufeng ZHENG completed his 1-week research work in Kumamoto University from Dec. 9-13
In this visit, besides offering a lecture at the 137th IROAST seminar held on Dec. 11th, he had a meeting with Prof. Mine, Prof. Kwak and Prof. Takashima to collaborate on the mechanical property of Zn based biodegradable metals, and he proceed the research on the fatigue behavior of Zn-Li alloys with different addition of the Li element.
He also had a meeting with Assistant Professor XU in Nidome Lab on the 9th of Dec. He is supporting Assistant Professor XU where he supports her for application this year as co-PI on the project she applied with the topic to Regulation of the degradation behavior of the Zn alloys with the surface modification technique by polymers, and they discussed about the details for it face-to-face.
On Dec. 12, he also visited IRCMS* to have a meeting with Dr. Yuichiro ARIMA. He shared each research with Dr, Arima and plan to explore new collaboration with Prof. Arima and Prof. Jun OTANI who is another collaborator in Kumamoto University and on possible topic to combine the nanoCT technique with the in vivo testing of the biodegradation products on the surface of the Zn alloy cardiovascular stent.
