From September 1st to October 27th, three young researchers underwent internship with Associate Professor Lee. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, they could not come to Japan for on-site internship, so the internship was conducted in online format this year.
Mr. Venkata Nanda Kishor Babu Adusumalli, a postdoctoral researcher at Chonnam National University, conducted research on biomedical applications of inorganic nanoparticles.
Mr. Min Soo Kang, PhD. Candidate from Kangwon National University, who is interested in neuroscience, participated in the internship to gain experience in nanoscience. From the synthesis of nanoparticles, we were able to obtain images from an animal model of ischemia.
Ms. Woojin Lee, Research Associate of Kongju National University, specializes in environmentally friendly urban development, and she and Associate Professor Lee collaborated on research on the importance of urban forests and their impact on health.
We are confident that this internship was beneficial for all three of them, and they will continue to collaborate with Prof. Lee in the future.
IROAST is still accepting applications from graduate students and young researchers who wish to apply for online internships. The closing date is January 14, 2022. If you are interested, please refer to this URL.
