Ms. Mina RUFF, a master's student at the University of Bordeaux (France), is participating in the IROAST Research Internship Program organized by Prof. Makoto TAKAFUJI, a coordinator of IROAST Research Cluster "Nano-Organics and Nano-Hybrids".
The kick-off meeting prior to the internship at Kumamoto University is normally held online, but this time, it was held face-to-face during Professor TAKAFUJI’s visit to the University of Bordeaux.
Ms. Ruff was briefed on the details of the program and discussed her overall research plan.
In addition to Ms. RUFF and Prof. TAKAFUJI, the Kick-off meeting was attended by Dr. Reiko ODA (Visiting Professor at IROAST/member of the IROAST Research Cluster "Nano-Organics and Nano-Hybrids") and Dr. Emilie POUGET, who visited IROAST in 2022 when she attended the IROAST symposium, both from CNRS /Université de Bordeaux, and Ms. Nanami HANO from Kumamoto University (member of the IROAST Research Cluster "Nano-Organics and Nano-Hybrids") , who is currently studying at the University of Bordeaux as a JSPS Overseas Research Fellowship.
The internship at Kumamoto University started today, January 22, and Ms. RUFF immediately visited Director TAKASHIMA together with Prof. TAKAFUJI. Ms. Ruff’s participation in the internship program was realized after researchers from the University of Bordeaux, including Dr. ODA and Dr. POUGET, visited IROAST in November 2022 and exchanged ideas about internship and young researchers’ exchanges. Ms. RUFF learned about the program from her supervising professor, decided it was worth a try.
The internship at Kumamoto University is scheduled for about 8 weeks until mid-March 2024.
We hope she will be able to enjoy staying in Kumamoto and promote joint research with Prof. TAKAFUJI.
