4.Titile 演題:Operando investigations of gas sensing with semiconducting metal oxides.
5. Overview概要:
For understanding of gas sensing with devices based on semiconducting metal oxides, the operando approach was proven to be extremely effective. It implies performing complex measurements on sensors in the same conditions in which they are used, namely: operation temperatures between RT and 400°C; at atmospheric pressure; in the presence of humidity and other interfering gases. The lecture will present examples for the use of two of the most successful techniques: Diffuse Reflectance Infrared Fourier Transformed Spectroscopy (DRIFTS) and Kelvin probe work function changes measurements. In both cases, the simultaneous measurement of the sensors' DC resistance was performed. The analyzed cases are: the influence of water vapor on the transduction and reception functions of SnO2 based sensors and the surface reactions taking place under exposure of WO3 based gas sensors to ethanol and acetone.
