IROAST held the 42nd IROAST Seminar on December 4, 2018. The seminar was organized by Associate Professor Atsushi Sainoki. He invited two speakers from Canada, Dr Agus Sasmito from McGill University and Dr Ali G. Madiseh from the University of British Columbia. Dr Sasmito presented an advanced methodology to enhance the efficiency of ground freezing to extract a uranium orebody in a weak ground condition, while Dr Madiseh gave a presentation on a coaxial borehole heat exchanger for geothermal energy development.

The speakers also visited IROAST Director Hiyama together with Associate Professor Sainoki before the seminar. They enjoyed discussing their current and future collaborations.
