The 2nd IROAST Symposium was held on June 11, at Kurokami South Campus. The theme of the symposium was “International Workshop on Geomechanics from micro to macro: trends and challenges”. Seven researchers were invited to give lectures from Japan and abroad. There was a lively exchange of questions and answers. After the workshop, they toured the facilities of the X-Earth Center (X-ray CT apparatus).

After the symposium
IROAST will hold the 2nd IROAST symposium, “International Workshop on Geomechanics from micro to macro: trends and challenges” on June 11, 2018. World-class researchers from France (Université Grenoble Alpes), USA (Caltech), Australia (The University of Sydney) and Japan will talk about their research and discuss trends in the geomechanics field. We hope to see you at the symposium. Graduate students are also welcome.
