Dr. Takashi Hiyama, former Director of IROAST, was awarded the title of AAIA Fellow　檜山隆前研究機構長がAAIAからFellowの称号を授与されました

On December 11, 2023, the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) awarded the title of Fellow to Professor Emeritus Takashi HIYAMA of Kumamoto University, former Director of the International Research Organization for Advanced Science and Technology (IROAST).

The Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) was incorporated in Hong Kong in 2021. AAIA aims to build a broad AI industry and to develop the AI industry in various industrial sectors. AAIA's main mission is to strengthen scientists in AI and other fields around the world and to promote the development and application of AI through activities, such as academic research, academic exchange, scientific education, scientific exhibitions, and academic conferences.

To fulfill the above mission, world-class researchers are selected as Fellows of the AAIA, and Dr. Hiyama has been selected as a top scientist with outstanding achievements in research areas of intelligent power systems with innovative applications of intelligent techniques such as rule-based systems, fuzzy reasoning and inference, artificial neural networks, multi-agent systems, and so on, and is now being honored with this title.

Dr. Hiyama sent us the following comments on the award and his future aspirations.

It’s my great pleasure to have official recognition for my research and achievements in the field of intelligent power systems with innovative intelligent techniques such as rule-based systems, fuzzy reasoning & inference, artificial neural networks, multi-agent systems, and so on.  Here, I would like to give my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in my research activities. Possibly, I would like to keep my contribution to this field and exchange ideas with other researchers, hopefully with young researchers.

2023年12月11日、国際先端科学技術研究機構（IROAST）の前研究機構長の檜山隆先生にAsia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) からFellowの称号が授与されました。

アジア太平洋人工知能協会 (AAIA) は 2021 年に香港で設立されました。AAIAは、幅広い AI 産業の構築を目指しており、様々な産業分野においてAI産業を発展させることを目指しています。AAIAの主な使命は、世界中のAIなどの分野の科学者を強化し、学術研究、学術交流、科学教育、科学展示会、学術会議などを通じて AI の開発と応用を促進することです。

AAIAのフェローには世界トップレベルの研究者が選ばれており、檜山先生は、電力システムのインテリジェント化に関わる研究領域において顕著な成果を挙げているトップサイエンティストとして選ばれ、このたびの称号授与となりました。

檜山先生より以下の通り、このたびの受賞の感想と今後の抱負を寄せていただきました。

ルールベースシステム、ファジイ推論、人工ニューラルネットワーク、マルチエージェントシステムなどの知識工学関連技術の適用による電力システムのインテリジェント化に向けた研究ならびにその成果が公に認められたことは非常に大きな喜びであり、関係者の皆さまに深く感謝するとともに引き続きこの分野において何らかの貢献ができればうれしく思います。
