Internship Student from Xi'an University of Technology in Dr. CAI's Lab completed his program

Mr. Dan YUAN, IROAST Hybrid Research Internship Program participant from Xi'an University of Technology, has successfully completed his program on September 6 and he received certificates of completion from Director TAKASHIMA.

Mr. Yuan completed various tasks actively and with high efficiency. Through this internship, he has studied the post-earthquake damage assessment of RC structures based on deep learning based on experimental research and Deep-learning (DL) analysis, clarified the damage mechanism and failure modes, and developed the calculation methods for predicting the capacity of the columns. As a result of this study, he also has finished a manuscript that has been submitted to the international journal of Advanced Engineering Informatics (IF: 8.0).
He is preparing another project with further discussions using the developed DL program now and will come to Kumamoto University in October this year as an exchange student and study continually this project. These also will support him in joining Dr. Cai's lab as a full-time doctoral student next year.
