Ph.D. scholar from India Completed his Internship Program for 4 weeks in December

Jan 16, 2025

Mr. Mohan BAJAJ, a Ph.D. scholar from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) in India completed his Internship Program for 4 weeks, coordinated by Dr. Gaochuang CAI (IROAST) and he received the certificate of completion from Director Kazuki TAKASHIMA in the end of December.

Mr. Bajaj performed various tasks actively and with high efficiency. Through this internship, he focused on the numerical simulation of the integrated metallic plate dampers using the FEM-based software ABAQUS. The numerical results obtained are verified from the experimental data from the previously conducted tests on the integrated metallic plate dampers. Based on the study, we also have discussed the future parametrial study on the dampers and the possibility to use it for the high-performance concrete structures what we are working on at my lab., and we also planned to write an article paper on the topic that will be submitted to an international journal. During his stay, he also joined some parts of our lab tests on the concrete filled steel tube structures and contribute some useful solutions. Besides, Mr. Bajaj also expressed his desire to join Dr. Cai’s laboratory as a postdoctoral researcher and long-term collaboration in the future.
