The discussion on research collaboration with the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the United States

IROAST Vice Director Jun Otani met with Prof. José E. Andrade, George W. Housner Professor of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Cecil and Sally Drinkward Leadership Chair, Executive Officer, Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering, the California Institute of Technology(Caltech), in Boston, the United States on May 29, 2018. They exchanged opinions about the future collaboration with IROAST and Kumamoto University.

Afterwards, Prof. Andrade came to Kumamoto University  and gave a lecture on the 2nd IROAST symposium, “International Workshop on Geomechanics from micro to macro: trends and challenges” on June 11, 2018.
