34th IROAST Seminar held on October 1, 2018

The 34th IROAST Seminar was held on October 1, 2018. The seminar was organized by Professor Akira Yoshiasa from the Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST), and it was combined with the Kumamoto International Symposium on Recent Advancements of Mineralogy and Petrology XI and the Eighth Meeting of Research Consortium on High-pressure Research. Following IROAST Director Takashi Hiyama's introduction of his organization, two speakers gave presentations: Professor Krzysztof Wojciechowski from the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland and Professor Tsutomu Mashimo from FAST. Professor Wojciechowski introduced his university and gave a talk on a "New approach to the development of efficient materials for direct conversion of heat into electricity." Professor Mashimo talked about "New materials processing and design under strong gravitational field."  Some 30 faculty members and students attended the seminar and listened attentively to their talks.
